Paul McCartney's ballet stumbles with critics

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Paul McCartney's ballet debut writing an orchestral score and tale of love about an ocean dwelling princess received poor, early reviews on Friday that called his music agreeable but the story and staging bland. McCartney, 69, posed for photos and fans with fiancee Nancy Shevell, 51, along with fashion designer daughter Stella McCartney and stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Watts and Alec Baldwin at a packed house at the New York City Ballet premiere held on Thursday for "Ocean's Kingdom."

Long lost Hitchcock film takes a bow in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Suspense master Alfred Hitchcock died in 1980 but that hasn't stopped him from adding a new title to his filmography. "The White Shadow," produced in 1924, is the earliest known film bearing his creative touch. The long lost film was unveiled to audiences on Thursday night at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills with a screening attended by the stars of two Hitchcock classics, Eva Marie Saint ("North by Northwest") and Norman Lloyd ("Saboteur").

Disgraced pastor Ted Haggard to appear in "Wife Swap"

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Disgraced pastor Ted Haggard and actor Gary Busey will trade partners in an upcoming episode of "Celebrity Wife Swap," a spokeswoman for the show said on Thursday. Haggard's participation in the episode comes five years after a stunning fall from grace for the former president of the National Association of Evangelicals.

Kiefer Sutherland returns to TV in Fox's "Touch"

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "24" actor Kiefer Sutherland is set to return to television early next year in a new program from "Heroes" creator Tim Kring that will air on Fox, the network said on Thursday. The show, entitled "Touch," is centered around a father's relationship with his mute 11 year-old son, who has the ability to predict events before they happen. Sutherland plays the dad.
