Advice for the Over-50 Crowd

Dear Old Bag: I have a dating question. Is it OK for a senior woman to ask a senior man to go out with her? Dutch, of course ... or should I offer to pay since I asked him? Also, could you suggest some places which might be OK for such a date? Thanks, and keep up the good words! Signed, Sweet Sixteen Again
Dear Sweet Sixteen: Yes, I think it is OK for a senior woman (or any woman, for that matter) to ask a man out. He always has the option of saying “no.” I think it is best to talk about the paying arrangements when you make the date. Say something like, “I thought we would each pay our own way if that suits you.” Of course, he may say, “I think you should pay since you invited me.” Then you will have a decision to make: either pay or stay home! I think you should know something about the man’s likes or dislikes and go to public places such as dances, concerts, plays, sporting events, etc. Good luck!
