Healthsouth Valley Of The Sun To Host Presentation On Benefits Of Yoga For Managing Chronic Pain

GLENDALE, Ariz. – HealthSouth Valley of the Sun Rehabilitation Hospital will host registered yoga instructor Kate Shipp for an educational and experiential presentation on “Therapeutic Alternatives for Managing Chronic Pain” on Thursday, Feb. 20 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. This event is open to the community and will be held at the hospital located at 13460 N. 67th Ave. in Glendale.
Presentation participants will learn the benefits of using yoga as a therapy for chronic pain and experience breathwork and gentle chair yoga. Participants will take part in a 30-minute Yoga Nidra session, a series of guided awareness practices that lead to a deep state of meditation.
Shipp is a 500-hour registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance with certifications in Yoga, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, Yoga Nidra, Reiki and Blue Star Celestial Energy Healing. Specializing in working with clients with chronic pain, she has had great success in helping clients better understand their pain and stress triggers.
